ImageThe BrainGym Team traveled to Kuantan on Friday (10 March) to hold two workshops at the request of the Parish Priest, Father Eugene Benedict through the Pastoral Council of the St. Thomas Church, Kuantan. Both workshops were held on Saturday, 11 March at the newly completed Church hall. The morning session was for children between the ages of 4 and 11 years (A D.I.Y. Stress management for Kids) while the other session, Switch On Your Brain was for teenagers between the ages of 12 and 19 years. In all, there was a total of 41 participants; not counting the many keenly interested parents who also took part in the sessions conducted by Brother Dominic Chong, a certified instructor and consultant of BrainGym® with the  Educational  Kinesiology Foundation in Ventura, California, USA.

According to Brother Dominic, movement is the door to learning. To live is to move. Life is ever changing, ever shifting and ever demanding.  BrainGymImage teaches the ways to move with one’s challenges, one’s dreams and one’s goals. At the workshops, the participants and parents were put through a series of BrainGym movements. The general consensus was that BrainGym’s easy, fun-learning movements do have positive impacts on one’s daily life tasks when faithfully practised.

BrainGym is part of the comprehensive programme Educational Kinesiology, a holistic approach to learning which enables people of all ages to more fully develop their potential in any area – concentration, memory, confidence and coordination. It greatly contributes to the enhancement of the quality of life of children, adults and those identified as "learning disabled On the next day, Brother Dominic gave a general talk on BrainGym and its benefits to a very interested group of parents and parishioners.
