Kuala Lumpur 7.11.05:
The effort by a group of Old Boys some three years back to form an association to enhance fellowship and to help the Alma Mater was concretized when the registration of the La Salle Sentul Old Boys’ Association, K.L. was duly approved by the Registrar of Society – a fitting  reward for the incumbent committee and Brother Ambrose Loke who had worked hard at the application since the middle of last year. The future looks bright for the young OBA as it already has a substantial member- ship. “We can now  heartily and proudly rejoice at the success achieved,” said the Association’s First President, Mr. Devid Manickam. The other key office bearers are:
Brother Ambrose Loke: Advisor
Mr. Gerard Joe Louis: Vice President
Mr. R. Balamuraly: Honorary Secretary General
Mr. P. Ravindran: Honorary Deputy Secretary General
Mr. Joseph Nathan Julian: Honorary Treasurer
Mr. Richard N. Fernandez: Honorary Deputy Treasurer

ImageIt is also co-incidental that  the  School is celebrating its 55th anniversary this year. Established by the La Salle Brothers, the school only offered secondary education up to Form 3 prior to 1984. Thereafter, students wishing to continue their studies up to Form Five would have to further their education in other nearby schools. But, over the years, plans to put up an extra block to cater  to the higher forms were already in place. Pushed on by Brother Ambrose Loke and funded mainly through donations, a new block was added thus enabling the school to provide continuous secondary education up to the SPM level.
To commemorate the double auspicious occasion, a fund-raising dinner has been organized for Saturday, 3rd December and it will be held at the Lobby Floor, Tower Block of the School. According to Devid, “this is just the start of a series of activities aimed at bringing the Old Boys together besides raising funds for the Alma Mater. ”He calls on all former students to support this landmark double celebrations. “It will be a walk down memory lane for most of us, especially when a good number of our favourite teachers will be gracing the occasion,” said one committee member nostalgically. “We are expecting a crowd of at least 400 people that night,” he added.

In connection with the celebrations, a special souvenir programme book will be printed. Sponsorships for the dinner are solicited from former students and well-wishers through the placement of congratulatory advertise- ments in the souvenir programmes and donations of door gifts and prizes (electrical items, hampers, meal vouchers, hotel stays, air tickets etc) for lucky draws to be held at the dinner night.
