ImageIn this spirit, the 1966 Fifth Formers of the St. Xavier's Institution, Penang responded to the alma mater's call to upgrade the computers in the school's Computer Laboratory when they got together on 17th June, 2006 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their leaving school. In conjunction with the celebrations the Organising Chairman Mr Quah Boo Hock together with some committee members paid a visit to Brother Paul Ho to find out what the old boys of 1966 could do for the school.

In response, Bro. Paul requested for 36 computers as the current ones were old and obsolete. Also, with the new computers, the present students can acquire more computer skills and the school can provide Computer Accounting classes, validated
by LCCI.

Through donations and other fund raising activities, the Class of 1966 managed to collect more than enough funds to buy 36 computers, the total cost of which was RM52,880.00. The balance of the donations together with the surplus from the subscription dinner and the sale of specially designed Class of 66 T-shirts were used to refurbished SXI second
counselling room.

The 36 computers were officially handed over to the school on 2nd August, 2006.

Thank you Xaverians of 1966 and God bless you all.
