Two Grand Old Stalwarts of SXI Print E-mail
The oldest active Xaverians who still go about their daily routines robustly must surely be Brother Dr. Michael Jacques and Dato’ Loh Hoot Yeang who are both in their very late 80’s. They were school mates at SXI and took their School Certificate Education in 1932!

Bro. Dr. Michael Jacques FSC

Bro. Michael will be celebrating his 90th birthday on 6 June with many friends, relatives and old students. My family and I are privileged to celebrate his past few birthdays with him in private.

Despite his age, Brother Michael is actively involved in alumni and Christian education activities. Apart from his other heavy commitments, he is also:

- A member of Yayasan De La Salle.
- The Advisor to the Malaysian Federation of Lasallian Associations.
- The Advisor to the Xaverian Club and the Franciscan Club, Kuala Lumpur.
- The Chairman of the Faculty of Mentors of De La Salle Institute, Kuala Lumpur.
- The founder and Animator of the Signum Fidei Group, Kuala Lumpur.
- A board member of many lasallian educational establishments.

Dato’ Loh is very supportive of the Alma Mater and has served SXI well in various capacities over the years. The good Dato’ is also the school’s benefactor in many ways.
